The Information-Energy Substrate
The Information-Energy Substrate: Exploring the Universal Field of Potential Across Languages, Cultures, and Conceptual Traditions
Substrate: Noun. 1. An underlying substance or layer. The surface or material on or from which an organism lives, grows, or obtains its nourishment. A material that provides the surface on which something is deposited or inscribed. (Credit: Oxford Languages)
My Understanding So Far
The Information-energy substrate is composed of two fundamental elements. Believe it or not, they’re information as unstructured data. And energy as torsion. It is an immaterial field of pure potential from which all things arise. Without structure. Without awareness. And without time. In this realm, the past, present, and future coexist in the same space. It simply is. Undifferentiated, timeless potential.
The emergence of form follows a recurring sequence:
Information → Information + torsion → Electricity → Electricity + magnetism (EM/electromagnetism) → Information-energy + EM (information-energy processing electromagnetic/EM structures) → Consciousness + time → Complex information and energy + complex information-energy processing structures → New data and new energy → Information (data).
This cycle repeats endlessly, everywhere, and eternally. Information is the origin point. Everything emerges from and returns to this source. At its core lies a fundamental duality. Information and energy. Their interaction is not only static. It also alternates.
This alternation is what we know as electricity. Yet there is another, deeper alternation within the substrate. Not only between information and energy. But between their states. Information and energy exist in two forms within the substrate:
Static → unrealized potential. Held in stillness.
Alternating → motion that creates flow, rhythm, and form.
This alternation is between static and dynamic states. Between rest and activity. Silence and signal. Potential and expression. The static state stores immaterial information for pattern and structure. The alternating state activates it. Broadcasting, transmitting, and shaping. Static information becomes dynamic when activated by energy. Alternating energy becomes static when it stabilizes into stored form.
This stored record contains all information. Both primordial (basic EM principles) and processed (complex patterns).
All structures that arise from the substrate have access to its complete store of information and energy. However, not all structures can process all of it. Each structure processes a unique set. Creating its own distinctive output of information and energy.
This inner alternation between stillness and oscillation is as fundamental as the alternation between information and energy itself. In this expanded view, electricity is not just the alternation between the two. It is the active phase of the substrate. The current is generated when the static potential becomes an alternating signal.
The information-energy substrate can be seen as a “precelestial realm”. Undivided, immaterial, timeless, and purely potential. The “postcelestial realm” is everything that emerges from it. The physical universe of matter (chemistry) and forces (physics). In the postcelestial, reality becomes structured, rhythmic, and conscious. Processing information and energy through constant input and output.
Material structures can channel and process this alternating current. Forming individual consciousness.
The alternating current generates rhythm. And time is the measurable rate of these alternations. Every structure has its own rhythm and therefore its own time. Consciousness arises as the alternating function of receiving and transmitting information and energy to and from the substrate. Time itself is a dimension emerging from these rhythms. Consciousness is a function. Not an immaterial or material substance.
A structure can be conscious. Provided that it is processing information and energy from the substrate.
For material structures, the past exists as stored data (memory). The present exists as the active processing of incoming information and energy. And the future exists as a set of potential outcomes. Predicted and shaped by combining past memory with present input. The more information a structure processes from the past and the present, the better it can anticipate the future.
In this way, all structures remember (past), process (present), and predict (future).
Think of the information-energy substrate as the ultimate backstage of reality. It is timeless. It is non-local. And it sits beneath everything we can see, touch, or measure. In it lives every pattern. Every law. Every possibility. Pure information and energy. As One. The Prime Duality. All the information you need to create a universe is in it. And all the energy you need is in it, too.
Some people picture it as a kind of holographic memory field. Like the Akashic records or a universal hard drive. Others see it as a self-programming language. Logic that writes itself and keeps evolving. In older traditions, it’s described as a life-force carrier. Chi, Prana, or Vril. In physics-inspired models, it is the quantum ground state, the aether, or zero-point field.
Depending on who you ask, this substrate might be purely computational. Information existing no matter the medium. Or alive and self-organizing. Constantly shaping life and the cosmos. It could guide biological evolution through morphic fields or serve as the blueprint for galaxies. But it’s never just sitting still. It is always updating and creating. Always integrating information and energy in a constant feedback loop.
That’s what builds, shapes, and sustains everything we experience. Right down to you reading this sentence. In this post, I will introduce the many theories conceptualizing the information-energy substrate. Ideas that range from an information-only substrate to an energy-only substrate to an information-energy substrate.
And as part of a series, I will further explore the myriad of concepts laid out in this installment.
Information: Noun. 1. Facts provided or learned about something or someone. 2. What is conveyed or represented by a particular arrangement or sequence of things. In computing, it is data as processed, stored, or transmitted by a computer. In Information Theory, it is a mathematical quantity expressing the probability of occurrence of a particular sequence of symbols, impulses, etc., as against that of alternative sequences. The Informational Substrate
Substrate Independence
Substrate independence is the principle that information can exist independently of the material medium in which it is stored or processed. In physics and philosophy of mind, this means that patterns and functions (whether in neurons, silicon chips, or hypothetical quantum fields) are not tied to any specific physical form.
This principle underlies theories of mind uploading, artificial intelligence, and abstract computation. Treating information as a universal, medium-agnostic phenomenon.
Information Field Theory (IFT)
IFT is a Bayesian framework for reconstructing fields from incomplete and noisy data. Treating fields as carriers of information over space and time. Originally developed in astrophysics, it unifies statistical inference with field theory. Thus, allowing scientists to extract maximum information about an underlying field from limited observations.
It models the field itself as an informational entity subject to probabilistic laws.
Informational Substrate Hypothesis (ISH)
The ISH proposes that all observable phenomena (physical, mental, or otherwise) arise from a deeper, non-material informational substrate. This substrate is timeless, non-local, and contains the “source code” of reality. With physical laws emerging as specific patterns within it. The hypothesis bridges quantum information theory, consciousness studies, and metaphysics.
They treat information as ontologically primary.
Akashic Continuum, Symbolic Resonance Matrices (Φ), and Metamemetic Theories
The Akashic Continuum extends the traditional Akashic Record into a dynamic, evolving medium. In which informational patterns are constantly updated through universal resonance. Symbolic Resonance Matrices describe the structured, harmonic relationships between archetypal symbols, numbers, or forms. Acting as bridges between meaning and manifestation. Metamemetic theory explores the evolution of memes (units of cultural information) in higher-dimensional informational ecosystems.
Where ideas self-organize and propagate like living systems within the cosmic substrate.
Hindu’s Akashic Record
The Akashic Record is an esoteric concept originating in Hindu and Theosophical traditions. It describes a universal “library” or field that stores every thought, action, and event in the history of the cosmos. It is considered a non-local informational substrate. Beyond space and time. Accessible to consciousness under certain conditions (e.g., deep meditation, altered states).
In metaphysical terms, it is not simply a record of the past. But a dynamic, living field in which the “scripts” of potential futures also reside. It often overlaps with modern interpretations of holographic reality and collective consciousness fields. This makes it one of the most enduring metaphors for a pure information reservoir.
Douglas Youvin’s Universal Informational Substrate
Douglas Youvin describes reality as founded upon a Universal Informational Substrate. A pervasive, non-material matrix from which all structures and processes emerge. This substrate is not a physical medium. But a domain of pure information. Organizing and directing matter, energy, and consciousness.
It is both the repository of all possible configurations of reality. And the ongoing computational “space” in which the actual universe unfolds. This makes its physical laws emergent properties of deeper informational rules.
Giulio Tononi’s Integrated Information Theory (IIT)
IIT, developed by Giulio Tononi, defines consciousness as the capacity of a system to integrate information. It quantifies this capacity as phi (Φ). A measure of how much a system’s parts causally constrain each other. In this view, the “substrate” of consciousness is any structure (biological or artificial) that possesses irreducible cause–and–effect power.
This makes information integration a physical property of reality.
Chris Langan’s CTMU Theory
The Cognitive-Theoretic Model of the Universe (CTMU) treats reality as both a self-processing language and a self-contained mind. Langan proposes that the universe is a “self-configuring self-processing language” (SCSPL). Meaning that the laws of physics are rules in a language the universe uses to describe and update itself.
This makes information fundamental. Not just stored. But actively processed. Such that reality itself has logical syntax and semantic content. The CTMU merges metaphysics, logic, and cosmology. Thus, positioning reality as a unified informational structure with built-in self-awareness.
John Archibald Wheeler’s It-from-Bit
Physicist John Archibald Wheeler proposed that the fundamental “stuff” of reality is not matter or energy. But information. In this view, every physical quantity and event derives from binary choices (yes/no, 1/0) made at the quantum level. Reality is thus “digitally” constructed, with physical objects emerging from a substrate of informational bits.
Wheeler’s aphorism “It from Bit” encapsulates the primacy of information as the foundation of the physical universe.
Douglas B. Vogt’s Multidimensional Reality Theory
Vogt’s Multidimensional Reality theory posits that the universe operates like a self-programming computer. With reality arising from a coded informational structure existing in multiple dimensions beyond the observable three. In his model, physical phenomena are expressions of underlying “program instructions” stored in a cosmic information domain.
This domain not only shapes matter and energy. But also dictates cosmic cycles, planetary changes, and even the patterns of biological life. For Vogt, information is primary. And the physical universe is a projection from this multidimensional informational substrate.
Ervin Laszlo’s Holofield / A-Dimension Theory
Laszlo’s theory blends physics, systems theory, and mysticism to posit a cosmic information field underlying all matter and energy. He called it the A-field. This field operates holographically. This means each part contains the whole. And serves as the medium for coherence across space and time.
It is the modern scientific counterpart to the Akashic Record. Carrying the memory of the cosmos and enabling the synchronization of systems across vast distances.
David Deutsch & Chiara Marletto’s Constructor Theory of Information
Constructor Theory reframes physics in terms of what transformations are possible or impossible. Rather than focusing solely on initial conditions and outcomes. In this context, information is defined by the physical tasks that can be performed with it. Making it a fundamental physical entity. Rather than an abstract quantity.
This approach treats information as embedded in the laws of physics themselves. Not merely a descriptive tool.
Rupert Sheldrake’s Life-Field / Morphogenic Fields
Sheldrake’s morphic field theory proposes that biological form and behaviour are shaped by non-local information fields. Which he calls morphic fields. They carry the memory of past forms and patterns. Through “morphic resonance,” similar systems across time and space influence each other. Enabling species to inherit not only genetic information. But also collective memory.
This framework treats information as a causal agent. Guiding growth and behaviour. Even cultural patterns. Without requiring direct physical contact.
Kharchuk’s Informational Primacy and the Evolution of Reality’s Structures Theory
Kharchuk’s work argues that information is the fundamental reality from which both matter and energy emerge. And that cosmic and biological structures evolve through the organization of this informational substrate. He proposes that reality’s complexity grows as information networks self-organize. Creating higher-order patterns, feedback loops, and self-referential systems.
This drives both physical evolution and consciousness development.
PET’s Information Reservoirs
In my Predictive Evolution Theory (PET), information reservoirs are environmental, cosmic, and artificial electromagnetic fields. They store and transmit adaptation-relevant information to living organisms. Ranging from forests and oceans to solar fields and planetary EM resonances. These reservoirs act as dynamic databases of evolutionary “blueprints.”
DNA and biofields resonate with these reservoirs. Receiving predictive signals about environmental changes and using them to code multiple adaptive variants in real time. We’ll be going deeper into this later. And again in more depth. With another series in due time.
Energy: Noun. 1. The strength and vitality required for sustained physical or mental activity. A person's physical and mental powers (plural noun: energies). 2. Power derived from the utilization of physical or chemical resources. Especially to provide light and heat or to work machines. 3. In physics, it is the property of matter and radiation which is manifest as a capacity to perform work (such as causing motion or the interaction of molecules). A degree or level of energy (energies) possessed by something or required by a process. (Credit: Oxford)
The Energetic Substrate
Zero Point Theory
Zero Point Theory refers to the idea that even in a perfect vacuum at absolute zero temperature, space still contains a seething quantum field with measurable energy. Often called zero-point energy. Rooted in quantum electrodynamics, it represents the baseline. The irreducible energy state of all quantum systems.
In speculative physics and alternative energy research, this “vacuum energy” is imagined as a universal energy reservoir. And it could, in principle, be tapped for limitless power. While mainstream physics treats it as a subtle background effect, many non-mainstream interpretations regard it as the foundational energetic substrate of reality.
Potentially bridging matter and consciousness. And the structure of spacetime itself.
The Aether
Historically, the aether was proposed as a universal, invisible medium permeating all space. Through which light and electromagnetic forces were thought to propagate. Ancient philosophers imagined it as a fifth element. While 19th-century physics framed it as the “luminiferous ether.”
Though discarded by relativity, the concept has persisted in alternative physics. Often reimagined as a subtle, energetic substrate underlying electromagnetism, gravity, and quantum fields. In Electric Universe contexts, the aether is more than a static backdrop. It is an active, dynamic plasma-like medium. Capable of transmitting energy, information, and forces across cosmic scales.
Esoteric Vril
Vril emerged in 19th-century occult literature (most famously in Edward Bulwer-Lytton’s The Coming Race) as a potent, all-pervasive energy harnessed by an advanced subterranean civilization. The human imagination is wild, isn’t it? More on that further on.
Vril was later adopted by certain esoteric and pseudo-scientific circles. It is imagined as a concentrated life-force or universal power. Capable of destruction or creation. And accessible through mental discipline, technology, or spiritual attunement. In these contexts, it is an archetype for a hidden, primal energy source underlying both biology and physics.
“In physics and information theory, "information-energy" refers to the concept that information, like energy, has a physical reality and can be quantified and related to physical processes. It suggests that information is not just an abstract concept but can be embodied in physical systems, and its manipulation or transfer involves energy. This idea bridges the gap between abstract information and the physical world, suggesting that information can be considered a form of energy or at least a related concept.” (Credit: Quora I, II)
The Informational-Energetic Substrate
Primordial Source Continuum Theory
This esoteric model describes a non-dual ground of being from which all information and energy flow. The continuum is an undifferentiated, living substrate. In which consciousness, matter, and force are unified. It is often framed as the ultimate source and destination of all cycles. With differentiation and manifestation occurring as ripples within its infinite potential.
Thermodynamics of Information & Information Heat Engine
These concepts explore the deep equivalence between information and energy. And grounded in Landauer’s principle. Erasing one bit of information has a minimum energy cost. The “information heat engine” is a thought-experiment (and in some cases, physical device) that extracts usable work from information. Essentially turning knowledge about a system into energy.
This unites computation, entropy, and physical work under a single information-energy framework.
Dao/Chi (information and energy)
In Chinese philosophy and medicine, Dao (Tao) is the ineffable origin and ordering principle of the universe. While Chi (Qi) is the vital energy that animates all living and non-living systems. The Dao is the informational blueprint. The cosmic “way” or structure. While Chi is its energetic manifestation. Flowing through meridians, landscapes, and celestial patterns.
This pairing forms a unified information-energy model. Dao as the fundamental instructions or logic of reality. And Chi as the current that carries and expresses those instructions. Both are inseparable. Mirroring the interplay of form and function. Pattern and flow.
Holy Spirit / God
Across many theological traditions, God (or specifically the Holy Spirit in Christian thought) is described as the infinite source of both the principles (information) and the vitality (energy) that animate existence. In mystical interpretations, God is the ultimate information-energy substrate. Omniscient (holding all possible knowledge) and omnipotent (embodying boundless creative energy).
The Holy Spirit is often framed as the active force. Transmitting divine intent (information) into manifestation (energy) in the physical and spiritual realms. Effectively, it functions as the interface between the infinite and the finite.
Sanskrit’s Prana
In Vedic and yogic traditions, Prana is the life force or vital energy pervading all living beings and the cosmos. It is not simply physical breath or bioenergy. It is a carrier of information. Orchestrating physiological, psychological, and spiritual processes.
Prana flows in structured pathways (nadis) and can be cultivated or directed through practices like pranayama. Influencing both the energetic and informational aspects of a person’s being. In some interpretations, Prana is the vibratory signature of cosmic intelligence in motion.
Theosophy’s Mental Body Theory
In Theosophy, the “mental body” is a subtle vehicle of consciousness composed of finer matter than the physical body. It functions as the seat of thought, reasoning, and imagination. It is both an energy field and an information processor. Interfacing with higher planes of consciousness.
The mental body not only shapes perception. But also stores and transmits patterns (thought-forms) that can influence both the individual and the surrounding environment. This makes it a personal information-energy substrate nested within broader cosmic fields.
Wilber’s Theosophical Involution Theory
Ken Wilber integrates Theosophy’s “involution” into his Integral Theory. Framing it as the descent of spirit into matter. In this process, the highest, most unified level of consciousness (pure information and energy) progressively differentiates into denser, more material forms. Culminating in the physical universe. This sets the stage for evolution. The return journey back toward integration with the source.
Involution thus acts as the informational blueprint and energetic infusion that initiates and sustains all levels of reality.
Antoni Kępiński’s Energetic-Informational Metabolism Theory
Kępiński proposed that living organisms engage in two parallel metabolisms. Energetic metabolism. It processes material and energy. And informational metabolism. It processes signals from the environment. The energetic-informational model treats both as essential for survival. Energy for maintaining structure. And information for adapting behaviour and internal states.
Together, they form an integrated life process in which energy and information are exchanged continuously between organism and environment.
Emerge: Verb, (3rd person present: emerges; past tense: emerged; past participle: emerged; gerund or present participle: emerging) 1. Move out of or away from something and become visible. 2. Become apparent or prominent. Emergent: Adjective. 1. In the process of coming into being or becoming prominent. Philosophy: An emergent property. (Credit: Oxford)
Manifestations of the Information-Energy Substrate
Consciousness as a Function
Consciousness, in this view, isn’t a mystical fluid or a separate “thing” floating around. It is simply what happens when material structures, at any scale, process information and energy from the substrate. A rock does this in an incredibly simple way. A bacterium in a more adaptive way. And a human in a staggeringly complex way.
Our brains, bodies, and even the electromagnetic fields we generate are just highly organized alternating structures translating the substrate’s potential into awareness and action. But we’re not isolated in this. The biosphere. The Earth. The Sun. The Milky Way. Even the Universe itself. They are all larger-scale structures doing the same thing. Receiving, processing, and feeding back information and energy.
Consciousness, then, is a universal function of organized matter and fields. Scaled up or down depending on the complexity of the structure.
Emergent Time
Emergent time is what happens when the information-energy substrate starts flowing through structures that alternate between taking in and giving out. Input and output. Past and present. Those alternations form rhythms. And once you can measure a rhythm, you have time. Every structure, whether it’s an atom, a cell, a forest, a planet, or a galaxy, has its own unique rhythm. And therefore its own “clock.”
These clocks are nested within each other. Like Russian dolls. The rhythm of your heartbeat sits inside the rhythm of Earth’s spin. Which sits inside the Sun’s electromagnetic cycles. Which sit inside the orbital patterns of the galaxy. And so on. Up to the Universe.
Time isn’t an external backdrop ticking away. It’s a dependent, emergent property of these interacting rhythms. Later, when we explore past lives, we’ll see how this layered structure of time changes the way we think about memory and continuity.
Life and Evolution
As per the Predictive Evolution Theory (PET), every structure in the universe, from atoms to organisms, processes information and energy in an alternating rhythm of input and output. This constant exchange updates the structure’s own memory, the memories of larger-scale systems it’s part of, and the information-energy substrate itself.
Organisms access both their stored data (past) and incoming signals (present) to predict and adapt to possible futures. If they lack sufficient information or energy, they face decay; with enough, they can thrive. Evolution follows this principle, but not just as slow adaptation—it is primarily predictive. Organisms generate multiple variants to cover the uncertainty of future change, with the best prediction surviving.
Signals of potential change travel through environmental information reservoirs, resonating at cellular and genetic levels, triggering predictive adaptations that can appear suddenly, even within a single generation.
In complex species like humans, these variants often take internal rather than physical forms. Changes in cognition, personality, neurochemistry, and behaviour. Yet they follow the same substrate-driven process of information-energy alternation, prediction, and survival.
I’ll be going into this with more detail again in a future post.
Collective Trends and Traits
Within the information-energy substrate framework, every organism is constantly exchanging information and energy. Both internally through its own genetic and behavioural memory. And externally through environmental fields and the substrate itself. This shared reservoir contains data ranging from DNA-level instructions to learned habits and migratory patterns.
Present environmental signals provide the “when” for action. While inherited or stored memory provides the “where” and “how.” As organisms act on this information, their predictions and behaviours feed back into the substrate. This reinforces existing patterns or adds new variations for future generations to access.
This is the essence of Sheldrake’s Morphic Resonance. Once a trait or behaviour emerges and is stored in the substrate, others with the capacity to process it can adopt it. Whether in the same species or across species.
These exchanges shape not only biological evolution. But also cultural and societal trends. Functioning independently of technological communication. Every thought, action, and adaptation is continuously uploaded. Making the substrate a real-time field of shared potential accessible to all structures capable of decoding the information and energy they receive.
Creativity and Inspiration
Creativity and inspiration are living proof of the information-energy substrate at work in the human mind. In PET terms, as evolution builds increasingly complex information-processing structures, and as Morphic Resonance provides a continuous live feed of past and present patterns from the substrate, the mind becomes a node in this vast exchange.
Ideas don’t appear from nowhere. They’re the result of alternating flows. Incoming data from the substrate mingles with stored personal memories. While outgoing imagination feeds back into that same substrate. This back-and-forth. Receive and transmit. Decode and encode. Generates what we call “original” or “authentic” creation.
Whether it’s a simple tool, a piece of music, or an entirely new technology. The process is the same. Alternating past and present information to predict what’s ahead. And shaping the future by manifesting something new. Prediction is not just about existing in the future. It is also about influencing it.
Savants and Psi Abilities
Savants and psi abilities (such as telepathy, remote viewing, premonition, prophecy, and recall of past lives) can be seen as direct interactions with the information-energy substrate. The timeless realm where all data and potential coexist without sequence. In this state, there is no barrier between past, present, and future.
All moments are equally “present” as stored patterns of information awaiting activation.
A savant’s sudden mastery of a skill. A psychic’s accurate vision. Or a telepath’s instant connection. May be the mind’s capacity to bypass ordinary sensory channels and tap into this undivided reservoir. Downloading structured data or perceiving events beyond physical proximity.
Here, communication is not bound by distance. Learning can occur without practice. And memory is not limited to one lifetime. Because in the substrate, all experiences, whether they have “happened” yet or not, are already present.
Past Memories and Ancestors
Premonitions and prophecies can be understood as direct manifestations of the information-energy substrate.
A timeless field where all data (past, present, and potential future) exists simultaneously. When individuals access this substrate. They are not bound by linear time. They can tap into stored records of past lives. Including thoughts, emotions, and experiences. While also receiving signals from the present moment.
By integrating this static archive of possibilities with real-time energetic inputs, the mind can form highly accurate predictions about unfolding events. This is the same underlying mechanism that explains savant-level insights, psi phenomena, and spontaneous recall of memories beyond one’s current lifetime.
Each being a form of “downloading” and processing the substrate’s ever-present store of information.
Premonitions and Prophecies
Premonitions and prophecies arise when individuals interface with the timeless information-energy substrate. Where past, present, and all potential futures exist simultaneously as uncollapsed possibilities.
By attuning to this substrate, a person can retrieve stored patterns of information. Historical events, emotional imprints, and environmental rhythms. And merge them with real-time energetic signals from the present moment.
This synthesis allows the mind to model likely trajectories. Effectively “seeing” the future before it unfolds. The mechanism mirrors savant cognition and other psi abilities. Where the brain functions as a high-fidelity receiver and pattern-recognizer for the substrate’s data. In this view, prophetic visions are not supernatural. But the natural outcome of processing the substrate’s timeless field of probabilities.
Angels and Demons
In the framework of the information-energy substrate, “angels” and “demons” can be understood as archetypal expressions of its built-in duality. When complex information flows through the substrate, it naturally generates polarity. Positive and negative currents of information and energy. This is the “knowledge of Good and Evil” encoded into reality itself. The knowledge we are warned about.
The substrate holds the memory of all past expressions. Personalities, intentions, events. Which can be accessed by consciousness according to one’s resonance or predisposition. What people experience as angels, guardians, ancestors, or blessings may be interactions with the positive phase of this polarity.
While hauntings, possessions, curses, or destructive influences may arise from its negative phase. These manifestations are not material in themselves. But structured layers that emerge from the substrate. Forming interfaces where immaterial forces meet the physical world.
Prayer and Meditation
Prayer and meditation are conscious interactions with the information-energy substrate. Intentionally aligning an individual’s own information and energy flows with larger environmental or cosmic currents. By focusing attention, intention, or rhythm (through mantra, visualization, or mindful awareness) practitioners create coherence within their own biofield and with the surrounding substrate.
This generates constructive positive-energy currents, much like the “guardian” aspects of angels. Which can propagate outward and influence other structures from the substrate. Producing phenomena such as healing, increased harmony, or the effects described by the Maharishi Effect. Where collective consciousness enhances coherence across larger populations.
Through these practices, individuals effectively synchronize their internal alternating currents with the wider field. Thus, amplifying the flow of beneficial information and energy. While dampening destructive or chaotic patterns. Thus, demonstrating that intentionality can modulate the substrate itself.
Psychedelic Drug Entities
Psychedelic drug entities can be understood as manifestations of the information-energy substrate encountered when consciousness temporarily tunes into specific layers of the field. Similar to the realms accessed by telepaths, psychics, or savants. These entities are not independent beings in a material sense. But structured expressions of information and energy within the substrate.
The nature of the interaction. Whether perceived as benevolent, malevolent, or neutral. Depends on the individual’s own energetic predispositions, intentions, and emotional state. As well as the method of entry. Such as through psychedelics or other altered states.
The substances simply act as a catalyst. Lowering barriers and expanding perceptual access. This allows the person to encounter a broader spectrum of information, patterns, and energetic forms. In this way, psychedelic experiences reveal the substrate’s inherent richness and polarity. Showing how consciousness can resonate with and navigate complex informational-energetic layers.
Electricity: Noun. A form of energy resulting from the existence of charged particles (such as electrons or protons), either statically as an accumulation of charge or dynamically as a current.” “While electricity is a form of energy, the information itself is represented by the patterns and structures within the electrical signals, not the energy itself.” (Credit: Oxford Languages, Quora)
The End of the Beginning
Across centuries and fields of inquiry, the concept of an underlying information-energy substrate has appeared in many guises. From the classical Aether of early physics to Tesla’s radiant energy. And from Sheldrake’s Morphic Resonance to modern ideas of Zero Point Energy.
While the language and frameworks differ, the central insight is consistent. There exists a foundational medium from which both energy and information emerge, flow, and interact. Thus, giving rise to the physical, biological, and conscious worlds we experience.
In this post, we’ve surveyed the introduction to these ideas. Tracing threads through history and highlighting the thinkers who glimpsed this unifying substrate. But this is only the beginning. Future posts in this series will dive much deeper into the theories themselves. Exploring the insights of the great minds we’ve already touched on. As well as others who have wrestled with these elusive concepts.
We will also examine the rich myriad of phenomena that arise from the substrate. From consciousness and emergent time to evolution. From predictive adaptation to telepathy and beyond. Each manifestation reveals the dynamic interplay of information and energy. The substrate is not merely a theoretical abstraction.
It is the wellspring of everything. And understanding it opens the door to seeing the universe, life, and mind in an entirely new light. There is much more to uncover. And the journey through the substrate’s mysteries is only just beginning.
